The quake measuring 3.8 on the Richter scale struck around 1:50 amGMT Monday), causing the house to crumble in the village of Celikhan in mountainous Adiyaman province, the NTV and CNN-Turk news stations said.
All casualties are members of the same family, said Adiyaman governor Halil Isik. Among the dead were three children aged five to 12.
No other damage was reported.
The same region was hit by an earthquake measuring 5.0 on the Richter scale last week.
Turkey is criss-crossed by active fault lines. Two violent quakes cost the lives of more than 20,000 people in northwest Turkey in 1999.
