Cold kills seven overnight in Moscow MOSCOW, Jan 20 (AFP) Jan 20, 2006 Seven people died in Moscow overnight as a result of exposure to cold temperatures which sank to around minus 29 C (minus 20 F) as Russia remained locked in the grip of a severe cold snap, Interfax news agency reported. Twenty two people were hospitalized for treatment of hypothermia, the report said, quoting the municipal health service. Cities and towns in western Russia have reported deaths and cases of hypothermia since the cold wave set in on Tuesday. Forecasters say temperatures will warm slightly during the weekend but were likely to sink again next week with the anticipated arrival of another cold front.
