Deadly rainstorms paralyze Sao Paulo

Heavy rain brought Brazil's biggest city of Sao Paulo grinding to a halt on Tuesday and reportedly claimed the lives of six people in landslides. The bodies of four brothers aged five to 20 were recovered by firemen from a house that crumbled apart in one landslide in a northwestern suburb, CBN radio, Globo Television and the Terra news website all said. Bangladesh, Myanmar and Honduras were the countries most severely affected by extreme weather events from 1990 to 2008, according to a climate change risk study published on Tuesday.
