Bombardier unit says it wins 1.3-bln-euro contract in China
Berlin (AFP) Sept 28, 2009 The Berlin-based subsidiary of Canadian group Bombardier said on Monday it had won a 1.3-billion-euro (1.9-billion-dollar) contract for high-speed trains in China. Bombardier Transport said the order covered 20 trains of eight cars and 60 trains with 16 cars, with deliveries scheduled between 2012 and 2014. The trains can reach a maximum speed of 380 kilometres (238 miles) an hour. The company said China wanted to establish 6,000 kilometres of high-speed train transport.
