A lightning strike at a golf course in Denmark on Monday killed one man and injured another as horrified players looked on, police and witnesses said.

The two men were playing at a course at Skoerping, northern Jutland, when the lightning struck.

The wounded man was conscious when medics arrived on the scene, police spokesman Peter Redder told TV2 News channel.

Witnesses said other players saw the two men struck down before rapidly evacuating the course.
