Mali military offensive kills 31 Tuareg rebels
Bamako (AFP) Jan 22, 2009 At least 31 Tuareg rebels from a group led by Ibrahim Ag Bahanga were killed Thursday during an army offensive in northern Mali, the defence ministry said in a statement. "Following an offensive by the Malian army, the base of Ibrahim Ag Bahanga located in Boureissa was destroyed. The toll on the side of the armed groups (Tuaregs) was 31 dead ... on the side of the national army, no losses," the statement said. Share This Article With Planet Earth
