Satlynx Deliver Transportable Solutions For European Emergency Services

Luxembourg (SPX) Jan 31, 2005
Satlynx and Excelerate Technology, a European Specialist VPN technology manufacturer and service provider, have partnered to provide mobile satellite broadband solutions across Europe.

In a mutually beneficial relationship Excelerate will deliver fixed and transportable VSAT services based on the Satlynx service offering across Europe. Satlynx will also offer transportable solutions based on Excelerates integrated mobile solution and support service to its own direct customers and will facilitate joint operations between Excelerate and its European wide Value Added Resellers.

The transportable VSAT solution is a fully automated two-way broadband Satellite platform based on Satlynx equipment and service combined with C-Com iNetVU controller and Excelerate E2Work VPN technology.

The first UK customers to benefit from this partnership include Oxford County Councils Emergency planning department, Avon Fire Brigade and the West Midlands Fire Brigade who have a number emergency support vehicles and incident command vehicles fitted with mobile VSATs; following closely behind will be Cornwall County Council and an Incident Command Vehicle for Strathclyde fire brigade.

Excelerate are part way through a program to convert its existing Police, Government, Health and Education customers to the Satlynx service.

Paul Heinerscheid, President and CEO of Satlynx says, "We are very pleased to be working with Excelerate who are also a leader in their field. Together we can deliver to a broader base of customers, each providing our own special products and services to our customers increased benefit".

Most of Europe can obtain excellent coverage using Satlynx service offering. The operation of the solution is completely automatic and simple to use. A motorized antenna automatically raises, locates and locks on to the satellite and establishes a broadband data link in very little time.

David Savage, Chairman and CEO of Excelerate commented "Most of our clients are looking for much more than simple internet connectivity from a vehicle, often requiring the full connectivity and functionality available at headoffice, to be available anywhere they deploy their vehicles.

Coupled with some exciting and exclusive video solutions that we have added to our solutions portfolio, after much searching and testing Satlynx became an obvious choice of partner for our International ambitions and we are delighted at this two way relationship".

Transportable two-way broadband satellite solutions are ideal for Government, Health, Education, Fire, Police and Security Services and allows mobile access to information systems, providing mission critical support and deploying instant contingency recovery. They provide reliable and cost effective solutions for mobile hospital screening units, MRI scanning vehicles, mobile classrooms and libraries.
