Turkey swine toll hits 353
Ankara (AFP) Dec 10, 2009 Swine flu claimed 112 more lives in Turkey in the past week, bringing the national toll to 353, the health ministry said Thursday. A total of 306 people remained in hospital, including 98 in intensive care, the ministry said in a statement on its website. Turkey began a nationwide vaccination campaign in November, but there are still widespread public concerns over the vaccine's safety despite appeals from health officials.
